A horror investigation game from Matt Desinics Designs
The Promethean Project
You came looking for your brother. The facility was waiting. So was he.
The Promethean Project is a perspective-shifting horror investigation game where survival depends on what you can see, who is watching, and how long you can hold control of the camera.
Your brother vanished with the facility.
In the late 1980s, the Helix Limina Research Group was working on something that disappeared from public record. Your older brother was part of that secret. Years later, you find the remote, crumbling facility where he was last seen.
The walls are rusted. The lights still flicker. Someone inside has been waiting for you.
Investigate. Document. Survive. Decide what truth you can trust.
A horror investigation built around unstable perspective.
Search the facility for evidence, photograph what ordinary sight cannot explain, manage your light and camera power, and survive the Promethean still stalking the halls.
Your view is not fully yours. The Caretaker watches through the old security system, reacts to what you uncover, and can take the camera back when you linger too long.
Explore
Navigate rusted corridors, locked offices, and abandoned research pods. Search for access cards, project files, and the secrets of the Helix Limina Group.
Observe
Document paranormal structural failure and residual energy fields using specialized optical tools. Some details are only visible through the lens of specific devices.
Survive
Evade the experimental creature blind to light but hyper-sensitive to sound. Walk quietly, hold your breath, use objects to distract, and never let yourself get trapped.
Remember
Piecing together audio tapes, personal journals, and files reveals the timeline of the facility's collapse. But beware: the voice guiding you has his own intentions.
Project Capabilities
The facility has a Caretaker.
The entity controlling the security hub isn't a pre-recorded tape. He observes your progress, responds dynamically to the items you collect, and interjects his narrative over the speakers. He will try to mold your understanding of what happened, but his guidance comes with a cost.
Your view is not fully yours.
Because the camera is tied to the facility's control desk, your perspective can shift without warning. You must constantly adjust to angles outside of your control, watching yourself from overhead monitors or wall-mounted feeds to navigate dangerous rooms.
A camera that should not exist.
The Project: Hecate imaging device captures layers of light that fall outside human perception. Peer through its viewfinder to see invisible codes written on walls, reveal unstable phase-shifted paths, and track anomalies that bypass physical security feeds.
The experiment survived.
Stalking the lower decks is the Promethean. Fully adapted to the dark, it relies entirely on sound triggers to locate its prey. Dropping a wrench, stepping on broken glass, or running in panic will draw it directly to your position.
Search with your hands.
The search is tactile. Slide open filing cabinets drawer by drawer, open doors slowly to peek, pick up files to examine pages, and manually manage flashlights, batteries, and tape recorders to preserve your limited survival gear.
Scenes from the prototype
Prototype sequences demonstrate the core game loop across four operational categories. Review these records to understand the facility's unstable environment.
Screenshots are from the current prototype build. Final art, lighting, models, animation, UI, and effects are subject to change as the game moves through rebuild and production.
[ LOG 01 ] Investigate: Search and Recover
Physical searches require manual dexterity. Slide drawers, sift through desks, and locate VHS magnetic tape cartridges to piece together what Helix Limina was working on.
[ LOG 02 ] Reveal: Uncover Phase Shifts
Use the Project: Hecate prototype imaging device to reveal physical anomalies, read invisible messages, and navigate corridors that collapse and reform under surveillance.
[ LOG 03 ] Prepare: Resource Gathering
Power is finite. Search cabinets and closets for fresh flashlight and camera batteries. Every extra charge buys you more time in the dark.
[ LOG 04 ] Hide/Survive: Evasion under Threat
When the Promethean approaches, silence is mandatory. Walk quietly to avoid sound triggers, crouch in shadow zones, or duck inside lockers and closets to break line of sight.
